The television personality says the government’s move proved the opposition was doing the right thing
Aamir Liaquat Hussain announced on Sunday his decision to leave Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) following the dissolution of the National Assembly (NA).
Speaking on the microblogging site Twitter, the television personality said: “Now that the drama is over, I would like to say that what the Prime Minister did proves that the opposition did the right thing, so I announce that I am leaving the PTI .”
He wondered who deviated from Pakistan’s constitution, adding that the Supreme Court would settle the matter. However, he added that what the opposition had done was right and PPP Deputy Chairman Asif Ali Zardari had once again proved that “Pakistan is divided”.
He revealed that he was standing at the door of the congregation while making the announcement.
The television personality said that while a lot is known, national interest is also something.
Therefore, he added, the President, Prime Minister, Speaker, and Deputy Speaker are all accountable to the Constitution
